EDE Gaia Academy Estonia, a Huge Success!

Gaia Academy’s first EDE was conducted from November 27, 2015 to September 25, 2016. It was organised in close cooperation with the vibrant Small Footprint community, where half of the sessions took place, and community members facilitated several processes and topics. The course got off to a strong start with 23 participants, balanced and diverse in terms of background, age and interests. The group evolved into a very close community as their EDE unravelled during the course of a year.

Among the course highlights are: designing and building a beautiful and functional compost toilet in Small Footprint community, working in permaculture gardens, conducting a forum process first facilitated by Ina Meyer-Stoll and Achim Ecker, later by our own trainers, conducting shamanic soul journeys and sending one participant (via donations) to learn about biochar in ZEGG, Germany.

Several personal (design) projects evolved into tangible activities – two participants started to teach in Gaia School (Tallinn, Estonia) and two others prepared designs based on permaculture for their respective properties.

Here is what a couple of the participants had to say about their experience:

“I have the understanding now that being in circle is an immensely empowering and healing way of life.” – Tarvo Nurmeots

“I wanted to understand and experience the essence of community way of life. I have included several practices already into trainings I’m conducting.” – Marika Ivandi
