NextGENOA is the youth movement of the Global Ecovillage Network of Oceania & Asia (GENOA). The Global Ecovillage Network Oceania & Asia (GENOA) was formed in 1997 and it is a collection of people, ecovillages and organisations in Oceania & Asia region. A member of the Global Ecovillage Network (GEN), GENOA promotes ecovillage living where people live together in a sustainable way, with dignity, in harmony with each other, and with nature.

Gaia Ashram was created in 2013, in Nongkhai province , northeast of Thailand. The project was inspired by Ecovillage movement. The founders, Sunisa and Tom Deiters were EDE alumni. They used the knowledge and passion from the EDE, Permaculture course and Deep Ecology  to design and run the project.  Gaia Ashram hold strong believe and practice on holistic approach that integrate all aspects in life, not only for planetary sustainability but also for personal growth and for strengthening our connection with the mother earth. 

Gaia Ashram has hold Ecovillage internship, Permaculture, Natural Building course and Deep Ecology workshops since 2014. Every education programs at Gaia Ashram  integrate the learning through the head, heart, hand and spirituality. 

This International Ecovillage Design Education(EDE) is the second certified EDE hold at Gaia Ashram. The intention of this program is to bring together worldwide participants to learn together, exchange knowledge and experience and create a network of liked minded people worldwide across regions. This EDE also intend to share more knowledge and wisdom from Asian culture
