Nordfyns folk high school
We are a Danish folk high school recognized by the law of Danish folk high schools. We do enlightenment education for adults giving life skills and opportunities to people from Denmark and many other countries. It is important for us to empower people through interactive learning, story-telling, sports, playing and learning.
Our main value is to be “glocal” which means to teach green and global skills at the same time as we try to implement as much as possible locally. (global/local = “glocal”)
Our most important value is to be green which means to “be the change” by doing “hands on” education for students from all over the world.
For some years we have focused on China, teaching kindergarten teachers and leaders in early childhood education.
We have students from all over the world including Asia, Africa and South America.
We employ 40 people including 14 teachers, kitchen, office and cleaning staff.
We run courses for 44 weeks a year which include topics such as sustainability and eco-leadership. We have an eco-garden with vegetables which covers part of our food. We have more than 150 school members.
Our school is an independent NGO with a board of 7 representatives from our school members.
