According to the SDG Center for Africa 2030 report, "The pursuit of sustainable development is the defining challenge for Africa in the 21st century. By integrating economic growth, social inclusion and environment sustainability, African nations must forge a new model of progress – one needed for the continent, and around the world."
Over recent years, Gaia Education has been honoured to work with our African partners to bring our courses, projects and toolkits to communities across the continent, as they face the frontline challenges of Climate Change - a crisis they did not cause.

a new project under development -
ACliMaTISE!
ACliMaTISE is a pan-African, 12-week MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) programme for university students!
Led by the Centre for Education and Sustainable Development in Africa (CESDA) the digital programme will build undergraduate students' knowledge of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs-2030) and the challenges of Climate Change in the African context.
Accompanying seminars and workshops will support the students to take action in their communities to support achievement of the SDGs and find strategies for adapting to and mitigating the effects of climate change on the continent.

Project Based Learning
We collaborate with like-minded organisations across Africa to develop long-term projects in climate-change affected areas. We support vulnerable communities to pioneer regenerative approaches to livelihoods and conservation, and explore real-life solutions to the challenges of designing sustainable settlements.
