Gaia Youth Brazil
In Brazil Gaia Jovem (Portuguese for 'youth') is a training programme for students and youth. It empowers individuals to review their role in their local society and the world. Gaia Jovem transmits a set of knowledge and skills that aim to inspire the transition to a more sustainable future. The Gaia Jovem class profile is diversified, including young people from 12 to 18 years old. They are all students in high school or independent learners.
The first editions of Gaia Jovem took place in 2013 and 2014 at PUC-Rio (Pontificate Catholic University) and in 2015 has launched a third edition. Gaia Jovem follows the EDE curriculum provided by Gaia Education, adapted to the reality of Brazilian urban youth. The course is truly transformational, as it presents sustainability in an integrated and transdisciplinary way, prioritising experiences practices and innovative tools.
