UNESCO Global Action Programme

In 2014 UNESCO has launched the Global Action Programme (GAP) on Education for Sustainable Development as the follow-up to the UN Decade of Education for Sustainable Development. GAP intends to make a substantial contribution to the Post-2015 agenda. The overall goal of the GAP is to generate and scale up action in all levels and areas of education and learning to accelerate progress towards sustainable development.

To enable strategic focus and foster stakeholder commitment, the UNESCO Global Action Programme (GAP) on Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) identified five priority action areas to advance the ESD agenda. UNESCO invited key stakeholders to become members of the GAP Partner Network to drive forward the implementation of the GAP. Members of the GAP Partner Networks are divided into five groups, one for each priority action area of the GAP. Gaia Education is an active member of Accelerating sustainable solutions at local level Partner Network.
